Set in 17th Century Japan, this show follows the revenge quest of Mizu, what led her to become a hardened person and what it costs. Watch it for its outstanding and cinematic animations and the complex character building and narrative. The show really delves into the mix of hatred, love, betrayal that leads a person down a dark path and the effect it has on them and those around them.

The characters are indicators of the society at the time and the role they are placed in due to their disability, gender or race, but the true test is in what they do with it? Fight their perceived identity? Accept it? Use it to their advantage to find their truer calling? Watch it to find out.
